Is the world ready for the aluminum Ford F-150?
AutoWeek
Ford is making its case to body shops, insurance companies, and accessory manufacturers: Don't fear the aluminum F-series. The 2015 Ford F-150 represents a huge leap for the conventional pickup truck, and leaps don't occur without risk. When you're dealing with the best-selling and probably most profitable vehicle in North America, the risk is considerable. Ford says it conducted extensive testing of the new aluminum 2015 F-150, including trailer towing and hot weather torture testing.

RV sales accelerate as recovery gains traction
Milwaukee Journal Sentry
Sales of travel trailers and motorhomes continue to improve, with demand for some models nearing the peak volume before the Great Recession, according to a new report by the investment firm Robert W. Baird & Co. Dealers reported solid gains in retail motorhome sales, up about 25 percent, and towable trailers, up about 8 percent, from July through September, Baird analyst Craig Kennison noted. Demand for motorhomes remains far below the peak volume, down 50 percent from 2004, suggesting more growth potential as the recovery unfolds. The demand for towables is approaching the peak volume of 2007, with dealers noting that lower-priced units were selling well — consistent with a broader "affordability" trend in leisure products, Kennison said.
