Gas prices tumble to 4-year low

The average price of gas at pumps across the country has dropped to a near four-year low of $3.08 a gallon, according to a recent survey. The price has dropped by 29 cents since 2013 and represents the lowest average cost of gas since December of 2010, according to a recently released Lundberg Survey. Gas prices have been steadily falling in recent months and are expected to continue to decline amid increasing oil production in the United States and abroad.

Rees to speak at convention reception for certified RV professionals

Michael Rees, president of A World of Training, will present "Making an Impact: Customer Satisfaction in Fixed Operations" during a reception for the new Society of Certified RV Professionals. The reception takes place Monday, Nov. 10, from 4 -5:30 p.m. during RVDA's convention/expo at Bally's in Las Vegas. All convention attendees with a registration badge are invited to come and find out more about the new initiative.

RVBusiness to honor 'Top 50' dealers at reception during RVDA convention

Fifty U.S. and Canadian RV retailers will be honored during RVBusiness' 2014 Top 50 Dealer Awards reception on Nov. 12 at the RV Dealers International Convention/Expo in Las Vegas. In addition, five of the dealerships will be recognized as Blue Ribbon dealers, and two will receive special awards for innovation and charitable outreach.

The Fenechs have been supporters of the RV Learning Center for a decade. Bill Fenech is co-owner of Grand Design Recreational Vehicles. "The Fenechs' decade of support for the Learning Center is a great testament to their commitment to excellence in our dealerships through education. By promoting affordable education with their generosity, they have helped our industry to grow," said RV Learning Center Chairman of the Board Jeff Pastore of Hartville RV Center. "We are grateful for their continuing support and vision."

Spartan Motors declares dividend
CNN Money
Spartan Motors announced a cash dividend of $0.05 per share of common stock this week. The Charlotte, MI, -based manufacturer of custom chassis for RVs and other vehicles reported that its semi-annual dividend will be payable on Dec. 18 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Nov. 13. "Declaring this dividend reflects Spartan's improving operating performance and the board's confidence in the company's future," said John Sztykiel, CEO of Spartan Motors.

Grand Design's Don Clark makes donation to RV Learning Center

Don Clark made a $5,000 personal donation to the RV Learning Center. Clark is a co-owner of Grand Design Recreational Vehicles. Donors to the Learning Center make it possible to invest in new technology and upgrade important resources like the Service Management Guide, which is soon to be released in its 11th edition. Financial support is critical to the mission of providing relevant, high quality education for dealership staff at an affordable price. "Don Clark's very generous gift is most timely as we approach our 2014 RV Dealers International Convention/Expo, because it is the Learning Center's premier education event of the year," said RV Learning Center Chairman Jeff Pastore.
