Senate to act on two-year budget bill this week
USA Today
The Senate has cleared a key procedural hurdle for final passage of a two-year, bipartisan budget deal before the end of the week. By a vote of 67-33, senate Democrats easily surpassed the 60-vote threshold required to end debate and move toward approving the legislation, which is expected by Wednesday, Dec. 18. "It's a step in the right direction," says Senate Budget Chairwoman Patty Murray, D-Wash., who crafted the agreement with House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis.

McGeorge's Rolling Hills RV growing
Richmond Times-Dispatch
Ed McGeorge started Rolling Hills RV, near Richmond, VA, on a 9-acre lot in 2001. Now the dealership — an RVDA member — sits on 31 acres, and McGeorge is about to begin construction on a 30,000-square-foot sales center. Part of the plan involves doubling the number of service bays from 12 to 24, and the staff will increase from 82 to 105. Son Kevin McGeorge says the expansion reflects a mood change among consumers. "People got tired of sitting on the sidelines," he says. "The banks have loosened up, so it's possible to buy an RV. It's a way to spend time with your family and friends, and the RV is your mountain house, your lake house and your beach house."

Michelin recall affects 1.2 million truck, RV tires
The Associated Press recall via The Christian Science Monitor
Tire-maker Michelin is recalling about 1.2 million tires sold in the United States because an increasing number are experiencing tread loss or rapid air loss. The Michelin LTX M/S tires were manufactured between January 2010 and June 2012 and were commonly used for pickups, heavy-duty vans, small RVs and commercial light trucks. They were sold as original equipment on some vehicles and as new replacement tires. The company says fewer than 200 have been returned by customers. Owners can have them replaced at Michelin stores for no charge. The Greenville, SC-based company says no deaths or injuries have been reported.

Consumer prices flat in November as gasoline falls
Consumer prices were flat in November, but a bounce back in the annual inflation rate from a four-year low will probably give the Federal Reserve cover to start dialing back its massive monetary stimulus.
