The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office says a stolen car investigation led the discovery of weapons and drugs at a home in Fresno. Jose Pineda, 40, and Samuel Maciel, 20, are in custody and facing charges of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance greater than 400 grams.
The sheriff's office says deputies went to a home to recover a stolen vehicle, but as they searched for the suspects and vehicles they spotted a controlled substance through a window. The narcotics unit was called to the home, and the substance tested positive for crystal meth, according to deputies. Eight kilograms of crystal meth was found — all of it carefully packed in bags and plastic containers.

The bodies of three young adults from Chambers County, just east of Baytown, were recovered Saturday alongside the trio's capsized boat after a duck hunting outing in the Matagorda Bay. Starett Burk from Wallisville, Spencer Hall from Mont Belvieu and Chris Ruckman from Dayton — all between the ages of 18 and 25 — launched a 17-foot, green, flat-bottomed boat around 4 a.m. off County Road 312, on the east side of the bay that sits between Port Lavaca and Palacios.

Deputies are searching for the person responsible for the gruesome shooting of a bald eagle in Anahuac on Monday. Chambers County Sheriff's Deputy Hector Gonzales, who helped recover the bird, quickly transported it to the Wildlife Center of Texas for treatment. Veterinarians at the Wildlife Center of Texas said the gunshot blinded the bird and severely damaged its beak.
