$1.7 million of cocaine seized by Fayette County Narcotics K-9 unit during traffic stop

Fayette County Sheriff's Office has reported that on Jan. 12 during a traffic stop, 15 bricks of cocaine were discovered in a compartment built into the vehicle's dash. Priscilla Hernandez, 51, of Weslaco was arrested for Felony Cocaine Possession.
According to the sheriff's office, Sgt. Randy Thumann and K-9 partner Kolt stopped a Toyota Camry on Interstate 10 around 10:35 a.m. for a traffic violation. Thumann said that after speaking to the driver he observed indications for narcotics trafficking.

Brazoria County sheriff retires after 53 years
After 53 years and 4 months in law enforcement, Sheriff Charles Wagner has retired at the end of his fourth term as
Brazoria County Sheriff. Sheriff Wagner, a native of Freeport, began his law enforcement career with the Freeport Police Department in August of 1967 as a patrol officer, having been hired by Chief Nolen Lassiter before his 21st birthday.
Hunt County sheriff retires with 45 years of service
Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks has retired as of the end of the 2020 calendar year. Meeks has been in law enforcement for 45 years. He has been Constable for Hunt County for 24 years and Sheriff for Hunt County for 12 years.
Brazos County sheriff retires after 40-year career
As of Jan. 1, Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk retired after a 40-year career. In those four decades, Kirk has served the community as both a patrol deputy and a criminal investigator. He also held the office of sheriff for the past 24 years.

Funeral held for Harris County sheriff's sergeant who died in motorcycle crash

Funeral services for Sgt. Bruce Watson, a 20-year veteran of the Harris County Sheriff's Office who died in a motorcycle crash earlier this month, were being held Jan. 12. Watson, who previously served in the U.S. Army, died Jan. 2 when a driver crashed into his motorcycle on his way home from serving as a funeral escort in the Pearland area.

Child dies after tractor accident in Caldwell County
KXAN-TV
A child died at the hospital after being hurt in a tractor accident Wednesday morning, according to the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said it got a call at 11:37 a.m. about the accident from an address on Rhodes Lane. The area is about 16 minutes from Luling.

Investigators still looking for handler of dog involved in attack on 3-year-old girl

The investigation into the handler of a dog seen wearing a service vest that bit a 3-year-old girl in Texas is underway and new surveillance video has been discovered.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said investigators know who the woman is, but they have not been able to make direct contact with her. Investigators are still gathering evidence but have reached out to the Harris County District Attorney's Office in the meantime.

They have asked for the public's help locating Jessie Mae Daley, a 14-year-old female. She was last seen on Jan.12 in the Onalaska area wearing blue jeans, a Harley Davidson hoodie and tennis shoes.
