Three people have been arrested in the killing of a Houston couple who authorities say were ambushed and "executed" at their home in a gated community. Investigators believe when Bao and Jenny Lam, both 61, came home Thursday night, they were "ambushed" by the suspects as they parked in the garage, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, who called the crime "heinous," said the three arrested were charged with capital murder. One of those arrested confessed to the crime, an investigator said.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office collected 26 pounds of marijuana and methamphetamines, following two drug arrests Wednesday. The Sheriff's Office said they stopped Kyle Lauterbach, 26, of Kyle, Texas, on IH-10 for an expired registration Jan. 17.

Sheriff's officials say a woman and two children have died in a mobile home fire northeast of Houston. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted on Twitter that the fire occurred early Wednesday in an unincorporated area of the county known as Huffman. The woman who was killed is believed to be the mother of the two children who also died. A third child was injured and taken to a hospital.
