Webb County Sheriff's Office deputies, while attempting to conduct a traffic stop, were led on a chase that ended up with the confiscation of 71 pounds of marijuana and the arrest of a local man. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Manuel Garcia, Jr, 20, refused to stop and a chase ensued, ending at the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge in Laredo.

More details on Rusk County capital murder case

The Rusk County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection with the murder of Clarence (Scott) Reneau.
Officials arrested Demarcus Lenard Lewis around 12:30 a.m. Thursday just outside of Kilgore. He has been charged with capital murder and was booked into the Rusk County Jail. His bond has been set at $1,500,000.

'Turn yourselves in': Sheriff identifies brothers accused of shooting Balcones Heights police officer

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar identified two suspects Thursday morning wanted in connection with the shooting of a Balcones Heights police sergeant.
Wilfredo Montemayor, 27, and his brother Sijifredo Montemayor, 30, are wanted for attempted capital murder. They are accused of shooting Sgt. Joey Sepulveda in the neck on Wednesday. The suspects remain at large while Sepulveda recovers in the hospital from his wounds.

San Marcos police officer and K-9 rescue 2 girls from attempted carjacking

A string of carjackings in San Marcos left two girls caught in the crossfire.
San Marcos police said on Jan. 22, Officer Stephen Sarver and his K-9 officer Rex responded to the incident.
According to police, the suspect, Christian Lee Guzman, first injured a woman and stole her car outside of the Ecno Lodge Hotel on Guadalupe Street.

Grayson County: Sheriff's office warns of 'outlaw motorcycle groups' ahead of Bells party

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office put out a statement saying they've been made aware there will be "a contingency of outlaw motorcycle groups at a party on Saturday in Bells."
Local police in the area are preparing for who they believe to be the Pagan Motorcycle Club, a group connected with meth dealing, muscle for hire and numerous other crimes.

Citizens have been calling the sheriff's office about getting calls from a lieutenant or a sergeant at the Potter County Sheriff's Office.
The scam call has been using names of Steven White and Michael Blackmon, both of whom work at the sheriff's office.

Denison Police have started a new program to enhance their local senior citizens’ safety and peace of mind.
The Senior Lock Box program makes it easier for police and fire rescue to get inside a home in an emergency.
The lock box, provided by the city, is installed by police. The resident chooses a code for the box, which is confidentially stored with 911 communications.
