The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday updated the condition of the deputy injured in a shooting on Feb. 2. Deputy Jay Johnson on Tuesday underwent major surgery to repair damage to his right wrist. The office reported the surgery was successful and that Johnson is on the road to recovery.

A teacher has been charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old male student. Jamie Lynn Goforth, 37, a teacher at Caldwell High School, turned herself in Sunday at the Burleson County Sheriff's Office, the department said in a press release.

A fake Twitter account impersonating a Fort Bend official was active for months before going dark Wednesday night, hours after the person being impersonated acknowledged it. Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls alerted his followers to the fake Twitter account purportedly impersonating him online, and called out a newspaper that quoted the fake account in a recent story.
