The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is posting more than just "lost dog" signs for a police dog that went missing on Wednesday. Police say K-9 Chico was last seen near Elmo Street in Florence, sometime before 10 a.m. Chico, a Dutch Shepherd, broke out of his kennel during the severe thunderstorms and hasn't been seen since. He should be wearing a brown leather collar and a silver-colored pinch collar.

Authorities say two people have died in a Houston-area house fire that also left two responding law enforcement officers hurt.
Officials are trying to determine what started the fire before dawn Friday at a house in north Harris County. Emergency responders located two bodies in the home. Ponderosa Fire Department Chief Fred Windisch says two sheriff's deputies were being treated for smoke inhalation.

New procedures outlined by the University of Texas System Campus Police plan to raise that percentage by building trust between police and survivors. UT System Campus Police and researchers from UT-Austin collaborated on a set of new, victim-centered guidelines for investigating reports of sexual assault. "The Blueprint for Campus Police: Responding to Sexual Assault" is a 170-page document providing guidance and training for officers handling assault cases.
