The Bexar County Sheriff's Office in Texas is about to roll out a new vehicle scheduled for testing through the next year that could put the department's motorcycle deputies on three-wheels. BCSO's first Can-Am Spyder is slated to hit the streets on April 11, and could serve as the replacement for BCSO's current fleet of eight Kawasaki Concours motorcycles, which are up for replacement after three years of service. BCSO Sgt. Augustin Pruneda said the Spyder is being eyed as a safer option for deputies that doesn’t sacrifice the advantages of two-wheeled bikes.

A former Prairie View A&M football player was killed in a shooting during a party in Waller County. School officials confirm 22-year-old Darius Matthew Edwards was shot and killed around 12:35 a.m. on FM 1098 in Hempstead. The Waller County Sheriff's Office says Edwards died after someone pulled out a gun and opened fire. Edwards was a member of the 2011 Prairie View A&M football signing class but never participated after an injury sidelined his athletic career.

Arkansas State Police arrested two men wanted out of Texas in Region 8 Monday. According to a press release from the Smith County Sheriff's Office in Tyler, deputies tried to stop a black Nissan Altima on Monday, March 21. The car began to speed off and a pursuit ensued. Smith County sheriff's deputies chased the car at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour. During the chase, two sheriff’s vehicles were shot at from the front passenger side and rear windows of the suspect vehicle.

When the call of "officer down" went out on the radio on the afternoon of March 15, officer Brandi Kamper was among those who came running.
After arriving at what was still an active shooting scene, Kamper, a tactical medical officer, was escorted by a Special Response team into the "hot zone" to help treat Fort Worth Officer Matt Pearce, said Cpl. Tracey Knight, a police spokeswoman.
Pearce had been gunned down by a suspect in a dense thicket in west Fort Worth, and other officers had begun treatment using trauma kits.

"YouTube is like this cottage industry for gang-related activity," said David Pyrooz, a sociology professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder and a national expert on violence and social media. Pyrooz conducted a survey in five major cities in 2013 to gather information on how people involved in gangs interact online.
