A sea of Texas Department of Public Safety troopers lined up the Groesbeck High School football stadium Wednesday, both on the field and on the stands, to honor the life of one of their own. Chad Walker's funeral was held at the stadium at 10 a.m. and lasted until about noon.

Bryan shooting: 27-year-old suspect charged with murder, held on $1 million bond

A man accused of opening fire Thursday at a Texas cabinet-making company where he worked, killing one person and wounding five others before shooting and wounding a state trooper, has been identified as 27-year-old Larry Bollin.
According to the Bryan Police Department, Bollin has since been charged with murder and is being held on a $1 million bond. Police say additional charges may be filed.

West Texas law enforcement keeping an eye on New Mexico's recreational marijuana bills

Recreational marijuana is illegal in 34 states, including the Lone Star state. This means if you're found with marijuana, state law allows prosecutors to press criminal charges. The penalty is anywhere from a misdemeanor charge, to jail time.
However, for our neighbors next door in New Mexico, recreational marijuana could soon turn into reality.
That's why our local law enforcement is keeping an eye out, but not changing anything as far as how they police.

La Salle County sheriff on how smugglers' tactics are endangering his community

The La Salle County Sheriff's Office says law enforcement agencies in the area are experiencing six to 10 car chases a day as of late, and they tend to involve smugglers whose pursuits are endangering migrants and citizens. La Salle County Sheriff Anthony Zertuche shared the growing challenges in his county and the surrounding area. He said the sheriff's office is working with the Texas Department of Public Safety, La Salle County Constable Precinct 2, Encinal Police, Texas Parks & Wildlife and U.S. Border Patrol on a daily basis to tackle human-smuggling cases.

North Texas officer, 6 year-old daughter killed in chain-reaction crash

The Celina Police Department in North Texas is mourning the loss of one of its own officers — in addition to his 6-year-old daughter.
Per a report, Celina Detective K.C. Robinson, 33, was killed, along with daughter Brynlee, while they were in a line of vehicles waiting for students to depart a school bus on Monday.

Ace's owner said he got into some trouble while gardening outside with his family on Friday — somehow managing to get his little head stuck in one of the several holes in a wooden cornhole board.
