The Harris County Precinct Four Deputy Constable's Office is investigating after one officer was shot and two more were injured after responding to a disturbance call. Several deputies were responding to a call in the 12400 block of Saratoga Wood Lane when a man came outside of the home with a shotgun and started shooting at deputies.
Deputy Christopher Gaines was shot in his lower extremities and taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in stable condition. The Constable's Office updated that Gaines underwent a three-hour surgery, which was successful, and another was scheduled to begin early Tuesday afternoon.

A Bexar County sheriff's deputy, testifying Monday in a horrific child-abuse case, said he freed a toddler tethered like an animal to a door, then saw a boy who he thought was dead. Deputy Louis Estrada was one of three officers who provided emotional testimony on the opening day of the trial of Deandre Jerome Dorch, who was 36 when he was charged with two counts of injury to a child-serious bodily injury.

A former Las Vegas Strip casino dealer on the run for days after authorities say he opened fire on a picnic for a group of fellow employees, killing one, was arrested Thursday in Texas. Anthony J. Wrobel, 42, was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies near Vega, a small town in the Texas Panhandle, according to Oldham County sheriff's dispatcher Billie Jo Miesner.
