Authorities say it is a deadly case of mistaken identity, now four members of a Texas family have been charged with murder. All are accused of ambushing a neighbor. Eddie Clark, 29, was shot late Monday as he drove to his Houston-area home in northwest Harris County. The Harris County Sheriff's Office alleged that Clark was shot by Joe Argueta, who lives in the same subdivision.

Sarah Fields was sworn in Friday morning as the new sheriff of Panola County. And while she is new to this role, she isn't new to the sheriff's office or law enforcement. Fields started as a dispatcher with the Carthage Police Department in 1988, before coming to the Panola County Sheriff's Office in 1990.

El Paso County Sheriff's Office requests assistance locating wanted sex offender

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office needs assistance from the public locating John Oliver McMickings, a wanted sex offender.
McMickings failed to return to a multi-use facility in East El Paso after leaving for work. His whereabouts remain unknown, according to county officials.
The sheriff's office says he is wanted on a parole violation and an additional charge of sex offenders duty to register. He has an original offense of sexual assault of a child, the victim was a 14-year-old girl.

Dallas police: Video shows slain 4-year-old being abducted from bed as he slept

It was around 6:40 a.m. Saturday when Antwainese Square, out for an early morning jog, first spotted what she thought was a dog lying in the street of her Dallas neighborhood.
As she got closer, however, Square saw small arms and legs and realized it was something much more horrific — the body of a 4-year-old boy.

Houston-area deputies: Young teens ran to neighbor for help after dad killed their mother

A man was arrested late Wednesday after he shot his wife to death at a northwest Harris County home, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The shooting happened at a house in the 9500 block of Walnut Glen Drive, which is just outside the Beltway near the Sam Houston Race Park.
According to investigators, the couple's children — ages 13 and 15 — ran to a neighbor's home and called for help during the domestic altercation.

3 San Antonio teens arrested following carjackings, drive-by shooting

Three San Antonio teens were arrested on Wednesday following a string of crimes and a standoff with police on the city's Southwest side.
According to police, the first incident linked to the trio happened in the 100 block of Price Avenue.
Police say the victim was parked in their vehicle, and the suspects drove up and parked next to the victim’s Dodge Nitro.
Investigators say several suspects got out of their vehicle, walked up to the man and told him to get out of his vehicle because they were taking it.

"We are in the middle of nowhere. We are on a highly classified location where we are looking for potential human and narcotics smugglers to pass by," said Master Sgt. Two people were arrested in Lowndes County, Georgia, by a Texas Ranger Monday during an organized crime investigation, resulting in the confiscation of dozens of cars, according to Texas authorities.
John L. Warren and Cynthia Warren were arrested with assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office, according to a statement from the Midland County (Texas) Sheriff's Office.

Uber driver admits to sexually assaulting 15-year-old girl, Houston police says

Uber riders are supposed to be at least 18 years old, and drivers are supposed to decline rides to anyone who looks younger.
But last week, Houston police say 49-year-old Uber driver Leonel Medina picked up a 15-year-old girl who called for a ride from her Houston area home to a Family Dollar nearby.
Instead, Medina drove to a nearby dead-end street, got out of the vehicle with his keys and into the back seat, locked the doors, and sexually assaulted the teenager multiple times, according to court documents.

Morris County sheriff: 2 people shot at pasture party

Two people suffered gunshot wounds at an incident that occurred at a pasture party off FM 144 late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, according to the Morris County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Jack Martin said a pasture party was going on Saturday night and into Sunday morning. He explained that a large group of people had gathered in a pasture off FM 144 near Dangerfield and that an altercation broke out between parties, and shots were fired.
