The Shackelford County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection with a possible homicide in Moran. Royce Duane Donaldson, 49, is charged with felon in possession of a firearm. Sheriff Ed Miller said Donaldson got into a fight with 51-year-old George Henry Mark II at a home on Ward Street. Around 7 p.m., Miller said Donaldson shot and killed Mark.

The El Paso County sheriff prohibited his deputies from working off-duty at a temporary shelter housing migrant children, saying he refused to support the Trump administration's "unjust" policy of separating families at the border.
Sheriff Richard Wiles received a phone call from a local Department of Homeland Security representative asking if his deputies could work off-duty at the shelter site, a tent city about 20 miles east of El Paso at the Tornillo-Marcelino Serna port of entry. The camp was housing migrant children who entered the country unaccompanied but expected to receive children who were forcibly separated from their families, Wiles said in an interview with The Washington Post.

A vehicle packed with undocumented immigrants flipped Sunday, ejecting 12 people and killing at least five after a chase in south Texas, Dimmit County Sheriff Marion Boyd said. Four people were killed at the scene about 50 miles from the Mexico border and a fifth person died at a hospital in San Antonio, the sheriff said.
