An arrest has brought out new information in a cold case from the 1980s. It has also lead to some shocking discoveries. KIDY-TV's Senora Scott spoke to Texas Ranger Nick Hanna when the Texas Department of Public Safety highlighted the case in 2016. It started with the arrest of John Gilbreath on other charges — possession of drugs, body armor and firearms. Then came a search warrant. That's where these investigators found more clues related to the murders of Shane Stewart and Sally McNelly.

Sheriff's deputies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area say a mother charged in the drowning of her infant daughter had been distracted by Facebook when she left the girl unattended in a bathtub. In a news release, investigators said Cheyenne Summer Stuckey, 21, originally told deputies she had left her 6-month-old child alone in the bathtub "for only a couple minutes" inside her Reno, Texas, home on June 13. The mother later returned to find her daughter, Zayla, unresponsive and floating face down in the bathtub.

A 76-year-old Central Texas man was recently arrested after allegedly escalating a road rage incident with a handgun. Police said Jay Brumbaugh of Weatherford shot at a vehicle whose occupants allegedly made an obscene gesture while passing him up on the road.
According to Palo Pinto County Sheriff Brett McGuire, the occupants called police to report the gunfire incident, which coincidentally unfolded right next to the sheriff's office.

After Texas officers freed an 8-week-old puppy from a hot car on Saturday, the Manor Police Department has released dashcam footage of the dramatic rescue. MPD officers, along with a deputy from Travis County Sheriff's Office, were responding to calls of a puppy not responding at a Wal-Mart in Manor, just 15 miles northeast of Austin.

Fort Worth Police officer Damon Cole dresses up as superheroes for a good cause.
