Investigators have developed some leads in the killing of a 32-year-old Wise County woman whose body was found in her burned home on July 5, the sheriff said Monday.
Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin also said the investigation has turned up a possible suspect, but he didn't provide any details.

Kendall County Sheriff's Deputy Carlos "Smiley" Ramirez grew up knowing that he wanted to be a law enforcement officer, according to family and friends.
The thought that he was doing something he loved the morning of July 2, when he was fatally struck by a black pickup on Interstate 10 at mile marker 533, is what gives Ramirez's family comfort as they mourn his loss, said Pastor Jason Brown of the nineteen:ten church in Boerne.

An officer in Converse, about 15 miles northeast of San Antonio, saw a black Toyota Tundra driving erratically in a residential area about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, and tried to stop the vehicle, which crashed into a parked car, police said.
