The Harris County Sheriff's Office has shut down a far-reaching auto theft operation that has victimized dozens of dealers and dozens more unsuspecting shoppers. The two-year investigation culminated in indictments that were handed down last week by a Harris County grand jury. The grand jury returned 17 charges against nine suspects in the complex auto theft after hearing evidence presented by the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

The body of a man who was last seen sacrificing his life jacket for his daughter on Canyon Lake was recovered Tuesday after a two-day search, officials with the Comal County Sheriff's Office said.
Michael Talley, a 45-year-old from the Houston area, was on a jet ski with his daughter Sunday when the pair made a sharp turn and were flung into the water. Though both had life jackets on, Talley threw his to his daughter, who swam to shore.

An officer-involved shooting in San Jacinto County is under investigation by the Texas Rangers and the county's sheriff's office, a Texas Department of Public Safety sergeant said Wednesday in a news release. Preliminary information indicates that on Aug. 6, at about 11:25 p.m., San Jacinto County deputies were conducting a routine safety check of a convenience store in Point Blank, Texas, when the officer-involved shooting occurred.

Dollison has been plagued with medical issues since being shot multiple times during the Smith County Courthouse shooting back in 2005.
