Texas police department welcomes 5-year-old battling cancer to its ranks

The Granite Shoals Police Department in Burnet County has a new officer in town, but she's a little younger than the rest of the department.
Isabella, who is just 5 years old, was recently welcomed to the department as she battles high-risk neuroblastoma. This is her second time with cancer after first being diagnosed and treated back in 2020.

Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar gave out more than 300 backpacks filled with school supplies.
The Back To School Supply Giveaway occurred on Aug. 9 at the Webb County Sheriff’s Office in downtown Laredo. "In an effort to send our children ready to learn this coming school year, the Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with South Texas Regional 9-1-1 Office, hosted a Back To School Supply Giveaway," Cuellar said.

Human skeletal remains found on side of highway in SE Houston

Human remains were found by a landscaping crew in the Pasadena area, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said the skull was found along Highway 225 near the Scarborough Lane exit around 12:40 p.m.
Authorities said a crew was cleaning up the vegetation along a grassy median when they stumbled across a human skull that was still attached to part of another bone.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) says three of the state's 10 Most Wanted offenders are back in custody.
Cameron William Bishop of Greenville, was arrested on July 14 by DPS Special Agents at an apartment complex in Commerce.

El Paso County Sheriff's Office ask residents to donate new, used fans

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is asking residents to donate new or sued fans for their fan drive.
People can drop off their fans Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the sheriff's office headquarters located at 3850 Justice Drive.
Deputies said El Paso summers can be hot and are asking for fan donations so they can distribute them to residents in need in the county
