Texas couple honored for following murder suspect who shot deputy

The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office is honoring a couple that helped law enforcement track down a murder suspect who shot a deputy in the face.
Sheriff Jeff Neal recognized Johnny and Victoria Stevens for their heroic acts on the night of Aug. 6, when police say 32-year-old Hector Alejandro Pintor Aguilar shot Lt. Scott Lillis in the face during a traffic stop near the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and South Kings Highway south of Texarkana.

10 bundles of cocaine seized in Fayette County drug bust

A San Antonio man was arrested after being caught with 10 bundles of cocaine.
According to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek, Drug Interdiction Officer David Smith stopped a 2006 Ford passenger car for a traffic violation.
The stop occurred around noon on I-10 at Mile Marker 663 near Flatonia

Texarkana Texas Police Dept. welcomes new K-9 to the force

The Texarkana Texas Police Department is welcoming its newest member.
On Wednesday, Aug. 24, TTPD introduced Thor, the department’s newest K-9.
Thor and his handler, Cole Bredenberg, have only been together since June, but have already made several arrests, TTPD says.

No joke: Searching for serious solutions to 'swatting'

The man accused of shooting and possibly killing his girlfriend wasn’t answering his cellphone.
Police in Columbus, Ohio, had formed a perimeter around the house the suspect was allegedly in, possibly with a woman who may or may not have been alive. Streets were barricaded, roughly 15 patrol units responded to the scene and a SWAT unit was called in.
