'A drunken act of stupidity': Woman arrested after randomly shooting at homes in west Bexar County, sheriff says

A woman is in custody after driving around and randomly firing gunshots toward homes in a west Bexar County neighborhood. Some of the bullets even went through the wall of a child’s bedroom, according to Sheriff Javier Salazar.
The woman, identified as 22-year-old Genesis Rodriguez, posted a video of the incident on her Instagram account and it went viral not too long after. Salazar described the incident as “a drunken act of stupidity.”

Collin County Sheriff's Office seizes 20 kilograms of methamphetamine
Members of the Collin County Sheriff’s Office and North Texas Sheriff’s Criminal Interdiction Unit seized several kilograms of methamphetamine, according to a Tuesday, Aug. 23, news release.
Deputies with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office and the North Texas Sheriff’s Criminal Interdiction Unit seized approximately 20 kilograms of methamphetamine — valued at $563,200 — during a traffic stop.

The "Most Wanted FURever Home" program will feature animals in need of home each week, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office release. "All MOST WANTED" pets will come with their spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, and registration.
Pets will also be sent home with pet food and supplies; like a bowl, leash and collar.

An off-duty deputy was on his way home with dinner for his family when he was shot and killed, according to law enforcement agencies in Texas. A 911 caller reported hearing gunshots at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The caller said someone was shot inside a vehicle.

Nearly $200,000 was confiscated on Monday, Aug. 22 after sheriff deputies conducted a traffic stop on a transit bus, according to Duval County Sheriff Romeo Ramirez.
At approximately 2 p.m.
Monday, Duval County Sheriff’s deputies working criminal interdiction, conducted a traffic stop on a transit bus on Texas State Highway 44 in Freer.

The benefits of physical mail correspondence and personal letters for inmates are well known. Inmates have a First Amendment right to receive mail. However, these rights have sometimes caused issues for officers and mailroom personnel.
The flood of drugs like synthetic marijuana, fentanyl and suboxone strips that have been inserted into letters and parcels has resulted in dangerous incidents for prison officers who were exposed to these substances during the mail-screening process.
