Tarrant County Sheriff Bill E. Waybourn spoke at a Thursday morning White House press briefing with Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Matt Albence and said that if law enforcement were forced to release undocumented immigrants with criminal convictions from jails, it would put the public at risk.

Rosemary Rodriguez, 54, was reported missing Tuesday. Rodriguez is described as a white female, about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing about 185 pounds. She was last seen at about 6:45 p.m. Monday leaving a residence on Mt. Pisgah Road in Kilgore.

When someone calls 911 they are often in distress and may have difficulty describing what is happening around them, but the Edinburg Police Department is hoping to change that by using new technology that makes it easier for dispatchers to communicate. Dispatchers will text a link to the phone number calling 911 within the Edinburg dispatch coverage area. Then, the caller can click the link to allow access to the camera. Within seconds, the stream will allow dispatchers to see the incident.

A Crockett man is accused of robbing a bank Friday to pay for a wedding ring and the venue for the wedding, a Texas sheriff said.
He was going to be married Saturday.
But Heath Edward Bumpous was in custody over the weekend after his fiancee recognized his photograph posted on a law enforcement Facebook page. The photo was from a bank surveillance camera and Texas authorities had asked for help to identify the bank robber.
