Two traffic stops led police to recover marijuana and methamphetamine in Texas. According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with four people inside on Oct. 4. Police said they found 36.5 pounds of marijuana inside several backpacks.

Lubbock Police Chief Greg Stevens on Thursday morning laid out a timeline of events concerning Monday night. Texas Tech student Hollis Alvin Daniels, 19, of Seguin, was arrested and charged with capital murder. He was accused of shooting Texas Tech police officer Floyd East Jr. on the campus. Lubbock police had contact with Daniels the day before.

New details have been released regarding a manhunt involving an East Texas man. On Wednesday, around 8 p.m., the Titus County Sheriff's Office responded to an aggravated assault call on Private Road 1410 at the residence of Tammy Jones. Deputies were told by Jones that Stephen Coker was attempting to run over Jones with a truck.

An ongoing investigation led the Victoria County Sheriff's Office to seize a game room Friday. Their investigation revealed numerous state and federal felonies were taking place at the game room at 314 E. Rio Grande St., Chief Deputy Roy Boyd said Sunday. The sheriff's office obtained a search warrant that was executed at 5 p.m. Friday. Deputies seized an undisclosed amount of cash and all machines inside the game room as well as the location itself.

One of the heroes of the recent massacre in Las Vegas was reunited on CNN with the off-duty officer who saved his life after he took at least two bullets while rescuing the injured and dying from the scene. In an often emotional interview, concertgoer Jonathan Smith recounted the aftermath of the horrific attack in which 58 people lost their lives in the mass shooting. In the process of saving others' lives, Smith took at least two bullets, one in the arm and another in his neck. He was dragged to safety by off-duty police officer Tom McGrath, who had to put his own fingers in Smith's bullet wound to stanch the bleeding.
