On Feb. 23, 1985, a local farmer found a naked, decomposed body by the side of a creek on Cliff Rd. outside of Kingston. The body was that of a Hispanic man with "Anita" tattooed on the right arm but his identity remained unknown until recently. Undersheriff Ed Kent said medical examiners were opening cold cases when they found the match through DNA comparison. Now, 32 years later, the Marshall County Sheriff's office is reopening the case.

The mother of a woman found dead in the trunk of a New Orleans' man's vehicle after deputies in Texas chased him on Interstate 20 told The Dallas Morning News she wants answers about what happened to her daughter. The newspaper reports Texas authorities have identified the woman as 19-year-old Jac Quisha Isaac of Dallas. Her body was found in the trunk of 33-year-old New Orleans man Freddie Gilbert's vehicle after he crashed it while fleeing Kaufman County, Texas, deputies.

A 29-year-old mother has been arrested in connection to the shooting deaths of her two daughters, ages 5 and 7, at a home outside of Payne Springs, according to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office. Sarah Nicole Henderson, of Mabank, was charged with two counts of capital murder and is being held without bond. Authorities were first called to the Payne Springs residence on a call of a possible suicidal female late Wednesday evening, according to Sheriff Botie Hillhouse in a statement released Thursday afternoon.

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott is beefing up the state's law enforcement presence in San Antonio to help crack down on a rise in violent crime, though city police said they didn't request or need the help.
"The governor offered the additional troopers, and of course we weren't going to say no," Police Chief William McManus said at a news conference in San Antonio on Monday. "The more people we have, the more visibility we can provide, the more area we can cover."
