Fannin County plans for cameras to read license plates

The Fannin County Sheriff's Office has plans to install a network of cameras that can read license plates. Sheriff Mark Johnson said most Texas counties already have similar technology.
"It will help you recover a lot of stolen vehicles, a lot of stolen property," he said.
The county received a grant from the state to help fund the cameras for two years.

Brazos County law enforcement unite to fight childhood cancer

The Texas A&M University Police Department, Bryan Police Department, Brazos County Sheriff’s Office and College Station Police Department are teaming up again with The Cure Starts Now-Central Texas to raise money for childhood cancer.
Together, the departments are joining the Beard It Up and Color for the Cure Campaigns. Officers participating from the local agencies will donate $50 to grow a beard or $30 to grow a goatee.

One of Texas' top 10 most wanted fugitives captured in San Antonio

One of Texas’ 10 most-wanted fugitives was captured in the San Antonio area last week, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Chris Devon Bardield Slack had been wanted by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office since January, DPS said in a news release.
At the time, he was wanted for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault of a family/household member and violation of bond/protective order.

Robertson County Sheriff's Office lifts burn ban

The Robertson County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday, Nov. 1 that the burn ban that was previously in place throughout the month of October has been lifted.
Robertson county joins Leon county, Madison county, and Burleson county in local counties around the local area to not be under burn bans, according to the Texas A&M forest service.

Lubbock County Sherriff Kelly Rowe announced Captain Joe Gilliam was promoted as the new Assistant Chief Deputy of the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, Gilliam has been employed with LCSO since January 2001.

SPCA of Texas removes 18 dogs in Kaufman County
Spectrum News
The SPCA of Texas and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office removed 18 animals — 13 adult dogs and five newborn puppies — from a property near Kemp, Texas.
According to the SPCA, the owner previously gave up custody of the animals. Officials transported all the animals to the SPCA of Texas’ Russell E. Dealey Animal Rescue Center, where they are being assessed and cared for by medical and behavioral staff.

Missing Anderson County woman found uninjured in cement storm shelter

Missing person Courtney Dollgener has been found, according to Anderson County Sheriff Rudy Flores. Flores said deputies and a property owner found her in a cement storm shelter near the intersection of FM 1817 and FM 2419 “uninjured and in relatively good health.”
She was examined by EMS, and Flores said afterwards she would be reunited with her family.

Texas DPS increases reward for Midland man in top 10 most wanted fugitives

Antonio Gonzalez, a Texas ten most wanted fugitive, has been named November’s Featured Fugitive by the Texas DPS.
The reward for information that leads to his arrest has been increased to $8,500.
Antonio Martinez Gonzalez from Midland, is affiliated with the West Texas Tango gang and has been wanted since February 2021, after the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for his arrest for a parole violation.
