From Nov. 11: Members of the hyper-violent MS-13 transnational criminal gang are bringing severe tactics like machete-hacking murders, rape, and scalping to Texas according to the Texas Sheriff's Association.
Jackson County Sheriff Andy Louderback, who also serves on the Texas Sheriff's Association, told Breitbart Texas on Monday that the MS-13 gang members are bringing a level of violence not seen before by gangs in the U.S.

From April 15: A Harris County deputy constable talking to his partner was shot multiple times in the back — for no obvious reason. Harris County Deputy Constable Alden Clopton and his partner, a reserve deputy, were making a traffic stop late Wednesday night, authorities said. After the driver was free to go, the reserve deputy was talking to her partner Clopton, "who was standing and talking to her through her open passenger window," Houston police spokesman Kese Smith said.

From Aug. 5: Approximately eight kilograms of suspected white heroin, with a street value of $6.4 million, was seized by the Fayette County Sheriff's Department from a car traveling from Mexico to Houston Monday morning. Deputies said they stopped a 2007 Chevy van just after 10:45 a.m. for a routine traffic stop on Interstate Highway 10. When officials began to question the driver, Andrea Hernandez Gonzalez, 54, about why she was traveling to Houston, they allegedly heard varying accounts that didn't add up.

From Feb. 19: The Texas sheriff who responded to Antonin Scalia's death says he didn't know it was the Supreme Court justice who had died until he arrived at the scene because the person who called 911 refused to say whose body had been found. Presidio County Sheriff Danny Dominguez on Tuesday said the owner of the ranch where Scalia died called authorities shortly after noon Saturday, saying only that the person's name is "big and it's overwhelming." No EMS services were requested.

From Feb. 12: A 19-year-old killed his mother and two neighbors before turning his gun on himself in a shooting that brought SWAT and various emergency vehicles to a rural area in Texas, authorities said Sunday. Uvalde County Sheriff Charlie Mendeke said Dylan Westerburg gunned down his mother Friday afternoon in their home near Uvalde, about 85 miles west of San Antonio. He then went next door and killed two brothers, Arthur and Phinny Norton, Mendeke said.

From Feb. 5: McLennan County sheriff's deputies, after a month-long sting operation, announced Tuesday they have arrested 46 suspects in an investigation of prostitution and human trafficking and have warrants for four more. Sheriff Parnell McNamara said the sting, operated by detectives Brad Bond and Joseph Scaramucci, resulted in arrests of prostitutes, pimps and Johns that were involved in the sex trade and in human trafficking for prostitution.
Some of those arrested specifically were looking for sexual encounters with minors or children, McNamara said.

From Feb. 26: A Texas sheriff's department released an incident report late Tuesday that revealed new details of the discovery of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia's body, as well as the name of the friend who accompanied him on the hunting trip and the items found inside the ranch bedroom where the justice was found.
In response to a public records request made by The Washington Post, the Presidio County Sheriff's Office released an incident report from the sheriff's investigation of Scalia's death at the Cibolo Creek Ranch on Feb. 13. The report stated that the justice's body was found in bed with a pillowcase covering his eyes. A breathing apparatus was on the table next to the bed, but it was switched off. Scalia was lying on three pillows "stacked up to elevate his head."

From Sept. 9: A female student died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday after shooting and injuring another female student inside Alpine High School, according to Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson. The incident began shortly before 9 a.m. in the town of 5,900 in Texas' Big Bend region. Authorities did not immediately release a possible motive for the gunfire.
Dodson said the injured student ran outside seeking help and was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't considered life threatening. He said a federal law enforcement officer who was responding to the incident was shot in the leg when another officer's gun accidentally discharged.
