Search continues for body of missing man; DA says inmate is suspect on possibly 2 deaths

Nueces County Sheriff's Deputy John Hooper says his department along with the Texas Rangers executed a search warrant off of FM 666 on Wednesday and recovered evidence at the scene. Nueces County District Attorney Mark Gonzalez told KIII-TV human remains were discovered and sent off to the state crime lab.

Mason appointed Lynn County Sheriff
The Lynn County Judge has appointed Wanda Mason to the position of Lynn County Sheriff. Mason will lead the department once led by Sheriff Abraham Vega, who died from COVID-19 complications earlier this month.

June 27, 1951-July 14, 2020

Kyle Coleman, retired Bexar County Deputy and current Bexar County Emergency Management Coordinator passed away July 14 after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

In addition to his public service, Kyle did much to preserve the history of the fallen not only for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, but also for the Sheriffs' Association of Texas Lost Lawman Memorial and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.After his retirement from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, he became the Emergency Manager Coordinator for Bexar County.

Austin Police Department mourns death of retired police officer after his battle with ALS

Todd Myers, a 32-year veteran of the Austin Police Department, died Thursday, July 23, after a battle with ALS. After Myers retired from APD, he took a job with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office as an investigator, but he was also a very talented musician, playing in several bands in the area.

Hays County Sheriff's Office recovers stolen property from Central Texas burglaries, thefts

The Hays County Sheriff's Office recovered several previously stolen properties from around the Central Texas area.On May 28, the Hays County sheriff's deputies observed a suspicious vehicle at a storage facility in Kyle. Surveillance was established and management for the facility was contacted. Upon gaining entry to the facility, deputies discovered a vehicle abandoned and the storage unit where the vehicle had been seen was unlocked.

Man fatally shoots partner after finding child porn on device, police say

A Texas man is accused of fatally shooting his partner with a stolen gun after finding child pornography on his digital device, according to an arrest affidavit.Robert Ernst Price, 51, of Arlington, is charged with the murder of Nathaniel Charles Snell, 32, of Arlington, according to Smith County jail records. He is being held on $500,000 bail.
