Generation Y driving less? New study from Deloitte says no

Conventional wisdom for the last few years has been that young people don't like to drive, don't want to drive and, therefore, won't be stopping by the car wash in the same numbers their parents are. A new study from Deloitte suggests that while all of the fears about Generation Y — that they can't afford cars and prefer public transportation — seem to be true, people in their late teens, twenties and mid-thirties still love their cars.

Dallas-Fort Worth small business lending soars 32 percent
Dallas Business Journal
Small Business Administration loans jumped 32 percent in fiscal 2013 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, increasing to $813 million from $617 million the previous year. A strong business environment in Texas and the willingness of bankers to make small business loans contributed to the increase, according to Ann Marie Mehlum, the SBA's associate administrator for the Office of Capital Access.

This car wash is making a difference

"It's been positive for me, because I know I always do a good job," said Mister Car wash employee Eric Chehansky. Eric has been working at the car wash for almost six months, and he's one of about 50 workers at seven local Mister Car wash locations who has a disability.

Man in critical condition after being shot at car wash

Michael Deadmon was recently shot three times at a car wash in Little Rock, Ark., according to police. The victim's brother told police they were at the business when shots began to be fired. A witness told the police that he spotted a black man with dreadlocks move towards the victim's car, and the suspect began to yell, before the witness heard gunshots.
