Car wash still booming despite water contingency plan
The words drought and car wash don't often compliment of each other, but you'd be surprised how efficient using a car wash is, even with the current water restrictions. "We use less water than hotels, we use less water than a lot of restaurants and here we are, just because we have the word 'washing' and we're using water, people are throwing rocks at us. Whereas we can actually save the city water by washing cars here versus washing cars in someone's driveway," explained Racer Car Wash owner Scott Hicks.
Build relationships of trust
Trust is a core ingredient to build successful relationships, both personal and professional ones. It is a major leadership characteristic. However, you can't take it for granted. You need to work hard to earn trust and to keep it. Isaac Watts once said that "Learning to trust is one of life's most difficult tasks." If you're not seen as a trustworthy person you can neither form engaged relationships nor high performing teams. And without them you can't become a successful leader and manager.

Pollen means money for car wash businesses
There's a lot to love about spring. The sun is out, the temperatures are up and the flowers are in full bloom. But, there's one thing, most of us could do without: Pollen. However, pollen means money for car washing businesses. "Cars come in dirty, they leave clean. An hour later they're dirty again," says Paul Toler, who is the operations manager at Bebo's Car Wash in Mobile, Ala. He says they see an increase in revenue of about 15-20 percent during the spring season.
Automotive plastics lightweighting and environmental trend drivers
By Don Rosato
Auto-makers choose plastic parts for a multiplicity of performance features. Important characteristics include durability, chemical resistance, mechanical toughness, coloring and finishing ease, elasticity and light weight. These automotive advances are driving the use of higher-end plastics under the hood, as well as the development of new plastics and coatings in new under-the-hood environments. On a volume basis, more plastics than steel are now used in today's cars for a wide range of components. Overall, growth in automotive plastics use has progressed from a typical 60 pounds per vehicle in 1970 to more than 400 pounds today.
