Reinvention: Stay competitive and remain profitable
Auto Laundry
Over the past decade, car wash owners/operators have seen many changes and innovations in the car wash industry. Advancements in technology, social media, and marketing have changed the car wash landscape, impacting how we do business on a day-to-day basis. To stay competitive and remain profitable, you have to embrace these changes and integrate them into your business plan, especially if you are a self-service car wash owner/operator. The evolution of express tunnels and in-bay automatics has drastically cut into the market share once dominated by the self-service industry. As these business models have evolved, so must the self-service operators.

The SBA just made it a little easier to secure a loan
The Washington Post
Small business loans are hard to come by these days. Not as hard to come by as they were during the recession, but still more elusive than before the economy collapsed. The Small Business Administration just tried to make it a little bit easier. The agency, which supports billions of dollars in small-business lending each year, recently implemented several new rules easing and eliminating some of the restrictions on its most popular loan programs. In large part, the revisions are meant to simplify the application process for small-business borrowers and give banks more flexibility in the way they structure their loan products.

Recycle, reuse: 'We're part of the solution,' says car wash owner
Water conservation isn't a new concept for All American Car Wash — the full-service car care business has been doing it since Larry Ayres opened its doors in 1997. With stage 5 drought catastrophe barreling down on Wichita Falls, city leaders recently decided that car washes will have to close on Sundays and Mondays when new restrictions are enacted. All American and other car washes in the city will be the only businesses that the city has mandated to close their doors two days a week to conserve water. If they aren't able to find an alternate source of water other than the public drinking supply, they'll have to completely shut down if the combined levels of lakes Arrowhead and Kickapoo reach 20 percent.
