Long-term growth controlling costs and increasing profits
Auto Laundry News
Many detail businesses today are finding it difficult to maintain a reasonable profit. Costs are increasing for equipment, chemicals, and supplies, as well as environmental issues relating to collection and disposal of wastewater. Further, the future looks to bring even higher costs so a detail business owner must have a plan in place to minimize costs.

Increasing sales with impulse items
Professional Carwashing & Detailing
Adding additional profit items like greeting cards, air fresheners and other car care accessories can provide a boost to the revenue of your car wash. Greeting cards and air fresheners can be marked up to the discretion of the owner. Retailers may purchase an air freshener for 34 to 35 cents, and the retailer may sell the product for more than a dollar. However, finding the best product fit can be a challenge for owners and managers.

Hacking a big danger for small businesses
The Associated Press via USA Today
It's not just big businesses like JPMorgan Chase, Target and Home Depot that get hacked. Small companies suffer from intrusions into their computer systems, too. The costs associated with computer and website attacks can run well into the thousands and even millions of dollars for a small company. Many small businesses have been attacked — 44 percent, according to a 2013 survey by the National Small Business Association, an advocacy group. Those companies had costs averaging $8,700.

Nissan Motor Co. is recalling about 238,000 Altima sedans from the 2013 model year because a secondary hood latch may not hold, increasing the risk of a crash, U.S safety regulators and the company said Oct. 10. Altima is the most popular Nissan model in North America, and through September accounted for 26 percent of the Nissan brand's U.S. sales.

Boost your brand loyalty
Professional Carwashing & Detailing
Everything from soda to computers and supermarkets accumulates customers through strong brand loyalty. Brand loyalty often beats convenience and price: It’s the reason people drive miles out of their way to get to a Trader Joe’s or why someone will pay substantially more for a Mac than a PC. But how do you establish brand loyalty when your interaction with customers is extremely limited? This is one of the biggest challenges facing any car wash, especially ones with automatic pay terminals like an exterior express model.
Sentencing in fatal Texas car wash shooting
Investigators say a New Boston, Texas, teenager and some of his friends found a gun in a truck they were detailing. That's when the gun accidentally went off. Semaj Williams was fatally shot in the head. The final chapter in this sad story occurred recently.
Your promotional bio: Is it a boon or a bust?
By Fred Berns
Many of the people who need to know you, don't. Your prospects don't. Your website visitors don't. Even your clients don't. That's because, if you're like most business professionals, your promotional bio undersells you and fails to give credit where credit is due. Problem is, you can't effectively sell your services and products unless and until you can sell yourself. The personal sale is the most important sale you ever make. You can't sell yourself without a bio that creates credibility, establishes your expertise and spells out your specialness. You can't get good clients with a bad bio.
