A well-executed flex-serve is a thing of beauty, with an extraordinary profit potential. As with most things however, the devil is in the details. Visiting a successful flex-serve wash can lead to daydreams that it's easy. It's not. It demands tremendous creativity and persistence in planning, training and management. With the recent uptick in these washes being built, it might a good idea to revisit the basics.
Report: This car shouldn't go through a car wash

An Oct. 25 article in Consumer Reports that is all about automotive paint, states that the Hyundai Veloster Turbo shouldn't go through a commercial car wash due to its paint. In particular, the article references the vehicle's owner’s manual which states: Don't use wax or any products made for normal paint; don't put the car through a commercial car wash; and do hand wash with a soft wash mitt and mild cleaning product safe for matte paint.
Hyundai to recall Genesis cars to fix brakes
Hyundai recently decided to recall about 27,500 Genesis luxury cars, just a few hours after the U.S. government opened an investigation into problems with their brakes. The automaker said the recall covers cars from the 2009 through 2012 model years.

The petite, brunette young woman with a bright smile behind the counter at Norman's Auto Valet car wash hardly looks like a judo champion working to get to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. But 21-year-old Kayla Chappell, of Moore, Okla., has been on several world teams and is moving to Colorado Springs, Colo., in about two weeks to train at the state-of-the-art U.S. Olympic Training Complex.

Obama pushes for immigration bill this year
With the partial government shutdown in the past, President Barack Obama recently renewed his call for an immigration bill. "It's good for our economy, it's good for our national security," Obama said in remarks at the White House. "It's good for our people, and we should do it this year."
Mister Car Wash acquires Star Wash location

Mister Car Wash has announced the acquisition of Star Wash in South Jordan, Utah. A recent press release reports that the sale marks the 41st location added by the chain in the last year, bringing their total to 125 car washes nationwide.
Georgetown City Council denies rezoning for proposed car wash facility

An application to rezone 1.25 acres on the southwest corner of Wolf Ranch Parkway and University Avenue for a proposed car wash was denied by City Council on Oct. 22. The property is currently zoned for agriculture and single-family residential use. Applicants were seeking a change to local commercial district, or C-1, zoning to build a Blue Wave Car Wash, according to a staff report.

Car wash burglars caught on camera in southwest Oklahoma City
Police have released surveillance camera images of some crooks caught stealing money from machines at a southwest Oklahoma City car wash. Police were called Oct. 16 to 9820 S.W. 15th Street, which is just west of Morgan Road. Someone had pried open the cash boxes on the vacuum machines and stolen the money inside. Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects and their vehicles.
Service with a scream: Detroit car wash haunts its customers
