Tips for maintaining dryers
Professional Carwashing & Detailing
Well performing dryers keep cars looking great and customers happy. They provide the finishing touch on a clean car to prevent water spotting and keep customers returning to your wash.
Dryers can also keep walking areas clean, preventing slips and falls and puddles. Here are five tips from J.R. Klemmer, general manager of Proto-Vest Inc., for keeping dryers performing at their best.
A Ford Quick Lane sized for Texas
On a clear day, you can see Pep Boys, Jiffy Lube and Firestone service shops from Planet Ford-Lincoln in Spring, Texas.
With all that nearby competition, why are dealer Randall Reed and his partner, General Manager Shawn Burns, spending $7 million to build a huge Quick Lane oil-change shop?
Reed and Burns believe they have a secret weapon in their battle against the nearby fast-lube shops: At the center of the Quick Lane operation will be a huge car wash capable of washing 1,000 vehicles per day.
Maximize your car wash revenue
Auto Laundry News
Who are your customers? Curiously, many know this costly shortcoming is a chronic and potentially fatal weakness in their business. Yet they seem strangely unaware, unable or even unwilling to take corrective action.
Do not fall into this dubious category of "gloom and doomed" operators. Instead, begin today to market your wash smartly and relentlessly. Make it a daily priority to build a stronger relationship with your customers.

Ford calls back more than 202,000 vehicles in 5 North American recalls
Ford Motor Co said on Nov. 4 that it was calling back 202,241 vehicles in five North American recalls covering several issues, including an incorrect repair in a previous recall.
The No. 2 U.S. automaker said it was aware of one accident in the case of the improperly repaired vehicles, but no injuries related to any of the issues.
Managing wait time for customers
Professional Carwashing & Detailing
Every business — carwash or otherwise — knows that keeping customers waiting too long is a recipe for poor service. Not only can excessive waits cause customers to become upset and agitated, but they can also cost the business through lost revenue and poor customer reviews.
Fortunately for carwashes that regularly deal with waiting lines of cars and trucks, a little organization and a better system for informing drivers as to their progress can bring calm and quiet to an area of upheaval.
Recalled GM cars remain unrepaired
The New York Times
Nearly nine months after General Motors began recalling millions of its cars for a dangerously defective ignition switch, almost half of the vehicles still have not been fixed.
A spokesman for the automaker said it was increasing its outreach to owners through social media and a new call center staffed with 72 employees dedicated to contacting those who have not scheduled repairs.
No more like gates: Rethinking your Facebook marketing plans
By Jessica Taylor
Just as you were on the trend of increasing your "likes," now you have to start all over with your Facebook marketing tactics. Facebook is taking down the "like gate." The social media platform will no longer allow companies to require a user to like a Page to gain access to content, contests, apps or rewards. After an abundance of like gating, Facebook found that the likes were not authentic because the increased number of likes would diminish after a promotion had run its course. What does this mean for your business?
