Texas detail shop caring for cancer patients with teddy bears

Shelly Garcia’s family operates Garcia’s Auto Detailing out of their home, and the business is also supporting chemotherapy patients, according to the Pampa (Texas) News. Paula’s Bears is a program striving to provide a piece of comfort to cancer patients going through chemo, said the article. Each bear will include a purple ribbon with inspiring words for the patients.

Water conservation efforts pay off: US usage lowest in decades

Americans recently passed a milestone when federal officials reported that water use across the nation had reached its lowest level in more than 45 years: good news for the environment, great news in times of drought and a major victory for conservation. What was surprising in the U.S. Geological Survey report released recently was how little of the 13 percent decline in national water usage was due to the public cutting back.

Honda discloses 5th Takata-linked airbag fatality, issues recall

The death toll linked to defective Takata airbags grew to five recently, with Honda Motor Co. disclosing the first fatality outside the United States and calling back more cars. The July 27 accident claimed the life of woman in Malaysia driving a 2003 Honda City compact sedan, Honda said. Honda learned of the incident on Aug. 27 and notified Japan's transport ministry on Sept. 10. Honda also said the victim was pregnant at the time of the accident.

Entire industries are being collapsed: The music industry, the book publishing industry, and the newspaper industry are just a few that are in complete disarray. And downstream from these are the retailers — When was the last time you went into a record store or book store? While this collapse might suggest less choice, a simple Internet search shows a vast number of places to purchase — or download — the product.
