Rosacea – A Growing Skin Concern for the Aging Population
Rosacea is a skin disorder that affects over 14 million Americans. This disease typically strikes individuals over the age of 40. Physicians and Skin Care Professionals are seeing rapidly increasing numbers of patients as the “aging” population continues to grow. This often-baffling disease can be difficult to diagnose and treat. Rosacea is chronic and progressive, often leading to severe disfigurement. It also causes tremendous emotional distress and embarrassment due to the persistent redness and lesions.

Although she survived the attack, the bullets tore away her nasal cavity and left her with a shattered cheek and nasal bones. Dr. Mark DeLacure and Dr. Minas Constantinides volunteered their services as part of the "Face to Face project," -- a free program of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. They already performed three surgeries to create her new nose using skin, blood and cartilage from her forearm. More
