The last time Lisa Marcus was at the Fifth Avenue office of her dermatologist, Dr. Debra Jaliman, she ran into someone she went to high school with. "She asked if I'd had a face-lift," said Marcus, 55, a recent retiree who had instead opted for a nonsurgical office procedure that some are calling a "facial face-lift": a package of treatments that may include not only extractions but injections of neurotoxins like Botox and hyaluronic acid filler, as well as red light therapy.

The new data from digital marketing agency Greenlight highlights the importance of connecting with potential clients via mobile phones, and of mobile-optimized websites and apps that allow consumers to browse, book appointments and even make purchases on-the-go.

PHCRI study: Hope for those with chronic nonhealing wounds

New research by the Providence Health Care Research Institute tackles a major problem plaguing long-term care facilities and hospitals. The study, published in the Nature Publication Group journal Cell Death and Differentiation, gives hope to those with chronic nonhealing wounds, a problem affecting as many as 20-25 percent of patients in long-term care facilities.

Age may be a factor in melanoma treatment quality
