Congress reauthorizes Terrorism Risk Insurance Act
Successful Meetings
When the 113th U.S. Congress adjourned in December, it did so without renewing, the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, a federal program created to protect American businesses from the economic impact of terrorist attacks. When the 114th U.S. Congress commenced this week, the TRIA was among its first priorities, according to Beltway Media, which reported that the U.S. Senate had passed a bill reauthorizing TRIA through 2020.

2015 SGMP award nominations and applications now available
SGMP
The Sam Gilmer Award is the highest distinction presented by SGMP and nominations are now being accepted. It is awarded in recognition of the planner and supplier member whose service to SGMP over a period of time (not just the current year), and especially at the national level, has significantly contributed to the Society's growth and development. In addition, every chapter is encouraged to apply for the Programming of the Year Award and the Communications of the Year Award. The nomination forms and applications are available now on the 2015 NEC & Expo page of the SGMP website. The deadline for all nominations and applications is 5 p.m. EST, March 13, and the winners will be announced in Minneapolis.

Focus on the other person in the conversation. Ask about what they want. Ask how you can help.
