If Congress does not raise the debt ceiling before March 16, the Treasury Department will suspend investments into federal employees' retirement benefits to help avoid a default.

Corporate meetings have seen steady positive growth over the past year, but the government meetings segment continues to struggle, showing little sign of regaining its footing, at least not in the quarterly Meetings Outlook report published by Meeting Professionals International. 2015 Sam Gilmer Planner and Supplier of the Year nominations due on March 13 SGMP

The Sam Gilmer Award is the highest distinction presented by SGMP and nominations are now being accepted. It is awarded in recognition of the planner and supplier member whose service to SGMP over a period of time (not just the current year) and, especially at the national level, has significantly contributed to the Society's growth and development. The nomination forms are available now on the 2015 NEC & Expo page of the SGMP website. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. EST, March 13, and the honorees will be announced in Minneapolis at the annual Sam Gilmer Awards Banquet.
