Feds publish 2015 per diem rates
Successful Meetings
SGMP's social media followers received GSA's 2015 per diem announcement when it was hot off the press on Aug. 15. According to a notice published in the Aug. 15 Federal Register, "the standard lodging per diem rate will remain at $83" and "meals and incidental expense tiers also remain unchanged for fiscal 2014 and range from $46-$71." Tier 1 cities will see a marginal boost, but most others will remain flat, in line with most 2015 overall federal travel budgets that will also stay flat. CBO: Sequestration cuts are unlikely this year
Government Executive
The fiscal 2014 budget that President Barack Obama signed last December contained enough cuts and revenues to avoid across-the-board cuts this year, the Congressional Budget Office confirmed. In its mandatory biannual update on sequestration, the nonpartisan office said that with Congress having made only minor adjustments to the spending caps required under the 2011 Budget Control Act, little has changed from its January 2014 assessment that no budgetary cancellations will be needed before fiscal 2014 ends Oct. 1.
