U-Haul names top moving destinations: Where does Austin fall?

The top moving destination in 2013 for people using U-Haul trucks was Houston, but Austin wasn’t far behind. The Phoenix-based truck rental company ranks all cities regardless of size based upon the number of one-way truck rentals. Houston has snagged U-Haul's top spot on the list of top 50 moving destinations for the past five years. There are some surprises, though. Not all of the top destinations were growing Sun Belt cities. More

If you plan to sell your house this spring, you’d better be ready to move. More than one in 10 houses that are put on the market in the Dallas area have a buyer within three days of the sign going up, according to a new report by Redfin.com. And almost 40 percent of Dallas-area houses sell within two weeks, the Internet real estate marketing company reports. In Austin, more than 20 percent of houses are under contract to sell within the first three days of listing. More
