Fort Worth Star-Telegram    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Texas lawmakers on Monday gave final approval to a new map for the state's expanded congressional delegation, completing a politically volatile task they are required to undertake once a decade. The Republican-led state Senate voted 19-12 along party lines to accept House amendments and sent the plan to Gov. Rick Perry, who is expected to approve it. Redistricting plans for the state House and Senate and the State Board of Education were approved during the Legislature's regular session. More

San Antonio Express-News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Late this summer, a new state water plan will warn Texans — not for the first time — that they're running out of water. That will not surprise folks along the Guadalupe, the Llano or any of the other parched rivers, lakes and streams around the state. And it won't be a shock in Kendall County, where the Trinity Aquifer continues to disappear. More
