Law360    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article

NAHB    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) today called on the U.S. government to avoid using the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Agreement (TPP) as a means of renegotiating the U.S.-Canadian softwood lumber agreement prior to its 2015 expiration date. DelmarvaNow.com    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The scorching of the central U.S. is one of the nation's worst in decades: Almost 65 percent of the nation is enduring drought conditions, a recent Drought Monitor reported. That's the highest percentage since the government website began recording conditions in 2000. Purdue economist Chris Hurt pegged the cost at $77 billion, which would make it the third-costliest natural disaster in U.S. history, after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and another devastating drought in 1988.
