China's breakthrough in nano bleed-stop technology

China's Qiingdao University has made a major breakthrough in electrospun medical glue hemostasis technology. In accordance with the reconstruction of organ integrity theory, an air assisted in situ electrostatic spinning device has been designed, and this project has for the first time applied this technique to in vivo animal liver resection hemostatic experiment. The device electrospun the cyanoacrylate medical adhesive into nano fiber, deposited it onto the wound surface under air guide in accuracy and uniformity, and realized fast reliable liver large area wound hemostasis.

The project uses high strength nylon filament yarn as raw material, applied circular weaving and rotary splicing technology, and prepared blankets base net with joint rings. This is done in order to make joint papermaking blanket by combining the needling and heat setting.

Church leader recognized for developing baby garment

Michael Wahl's has invented a new baby garment concept designed to dry more quickly, absorb more fluid and last for years called Dri-Butts Diaper. As a missionary pastor to Haiti, Wahl said his diaper is proving to be a step forward in solving two of that country’s biggest problems – clean water and sanitation. The reusable diaper is made of a bamboo-based material that was cool, very absorbent and could dry on a clothes line within 20 minutes.
