An installer's guide to wheel offset
Modern Tire Dealer
One of the most common modifications your customers make to their cars is to replace the wheels. It's easy to see why — there is really no faster, more effective way to customize a car's look or feel than by changing the wheels. Whether your customers are upsizing to 18-inch high-performance wheels for a "sporty" look and feel, going all out with those 20-inch or larger “bling” wheels, or downsizing to smaller wheels for a set of snow tires, there are three factors that consumers and service professionals must take into account when choosing and installing a different size of wheel.

Rick Perry calls for $1.6 billion of cuts in business taxes
The Dallas Morning News
Gov. Rick Perry recently called for business-tax cuts, saying they would preserve Texas' special status as "the most competitive place in the country" for entrepreneurs. It was not immediately clear, however, that Perry can build broad legislative support for his proposed overhaul of the business-franchise tax. Business and conservative groups hailed his plan, which would trim rates paid by all filers; deduct the first $1 million of gross receipts for most; and let companies that relocate in Texas deduct moving expenses.

Employers beware when conducting criminal background checks
By D. Albert Brannen
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission recently issued enforcement guidance on arrest and conviction records in employment decisions. Employers need to revise their use of criminal background checks in light of this guidance. Bridgestone study: Distracted driving 'socially unacceptable' among young drivers
Tire Business
A new survey shows that young drivers think it's socially unacceptable to drive distracted. Yet, social pressures fail to keep young drivers from engaging in those behaviors, especially when driving alone. This fact is among the results of Bridgestone Americas' annual survey that polls more than 2,065 drivers ages 16 to 21 nationwide. The survey also uncovered a sizable gap between what behaviors young drivers admit to doing behind the wheel and what they believe their friends to be doing while driving.
