WERC Conference Committee: Shaping the Future of Logistics

The 2016 WERC Conference Committee, made up of logistics thought leaders and subject matter experts, got together this week in Providence, Rhode Islando (the site of the 2016 WERC Conference) to discuss what's hot and innovative in the world of warehousing, supply chain and distribution. The 2-day-long meeting enabled these industry leaders to pull together valuable content that will improve processes and increase productivity for those who work in the field.

Future of procurement is more collaboration, technology and data

The Future of Procurement, a survey and series of reports from Oxford Economics conducted with support from Ariba, surveyed 1,000 procurement executives and practitioners globally. It uncovered three major trends of increasing collaboration, use of technology and data. In the survey, 63 percent of the practitioners said procurement was more tightly aligned with other parts of the business, while 51 percent of executives said the function was working more closely with suppliers.
