Penn dental school creates 'LGBTQ+ Fund' to identify bias in dentistry

The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine has received $50,000 for a “LGBTQ+ Fund,” according to a news release from the university.
Officials at the Ivy League university said the fund has “the goal of identifying LGBTQ+ based biases in the dental profession and ways to dispel them.” An initial “$50K leadership gift launches the Fund with the goal of eventually endowing the fund to support research and programs in perpetuity.”

Georgia dentists can administer the COVID-19 vaccine

Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp has issued an emergency order authorizing dentists in the state to administer the COVID-19 vaccine at public health sites on a volunteer basis.
While state statutes prohibit licensed dentists from administering vaccines, the emergency order allows dentists to specifically administer the COVID-19 vaccine in partnership with the Georgia Department of Public Health and in accordance with department guidelines.
