ACC discusses ACC airport sustainability efforts at Airports Going Green 2014

ACC President T.J. Schulz discussed the organization’s efforts to educate the airport industry on sustainability programs and practices during the AAAE/Chicago Department of Aviation’s 7th Annual Airports Going Green conference this week in Chicago. Schulz outlined ACC’s role in the establishment of the Sustainable Aviation Guidance Alliance (SAGA) database of sustainable practices and also discussed ACC’s efforts to become more sustainable in its operations and events. He noted that over the past 10 years ACC’s member companies have also joined the sustainable movement by adopting corporate sustainability policies. He added that current emphasis areas in sustainability at airports center around identifying cost savings, including renewable energy and recycling programs. More

ACC provides review of ADRM draft modules on Airside Infrastructure, Baggage Handling Systems

Under the leadership of Steve Riano, aviation practice leader with Bechtel Corporation and chair of the ACC Globalization Committee, ACC members were reviewed and commented on draft modules covering Airside Infrastructure and Baggage Handling Systems for the IATA Airport Design Reference Manual (ADRM). The ADRM provides guidance on designing airport facilities taking user needs in mind. An essential reference for airport development, the ADRM is a valuable tool for all stakeholders involved in airport development and planning. These updates are the latest step in a comprehensive review of the ADRM, which has already featured ACC input draft modules covering master planning, forecasting, terminal planning, cargo terminal, security, Automated People Mover systems and airport commissioning.
