9 Arrested in UK Airport Environmental Protest

Scottish police arrested nine environmental activists who broke through a fence at an airport early Tuesday to protest expansion plans, officials said. A dozen flights were canceled. Aberdeen Airport's international arrivals hall is being upgraded, and the runway is on track to be extended to accommodate more travelers. More

Mexico Increases Airport Security After Robberies

More than 800 federal and local police have been assigned to improve security in and around Mexico City's international airport after a series of armed robberies against travelers who exchanged money there, authorities announced Monday. Mexico City Attorney General Miguel Mancera said 460 additional city police officers have been assigned to patrol the areas surrounding the airport. More

UPDATE 3-Tav in JV to Operate Latvia's Riga Airport

TSA Flooded with Opposition to Corporate-Jets Proposal

Private pilots and business groups are assailing an effort to impose the first security rules on corporate jets, sending more than 4,000 protest e-mails to the Transportation Security Administration. FAA Officials Discuss Controversial Runway Safety Zone Expansion

Federal Aviation Administration officials met with Kodiakans last week to present preliminary reports about the possible effects and options of expanding Kodiak State Airport. Leslie Grey, FAA project manager, said the airport’s environmental impact statement (EIS) in the works is planned to be available for agency review in April, with the public EIS draft available in July.
