Project to extend Green Airport runway moves forward

After more than a decade of talks and planning, airport officials discussed ways to pay for more than $166 million in runway improvements at T.F. Green Airport in Providence, R.I. The plans call for extending the main runway to 8,700 feet and adding air-infused concrete at the end of another to catch planes that fail to stop. The concrete, which breaks apart, slows planes without damaging them. More
