Students who are in high pressure academic environments often look to ways to help maximize their time for studying and completing school work. As students feel more pressure to succeed academically, the notion of gaining an advantage to complete numerous projects and study for exams may appeal to some students. Aside from the medical risks from using such stimulants for those without ADHD, the desire to compete and perform has some students taking chances in order to boost their academic performance.

Hundreds Of Options Open To Late College Applicants
U.S. News & World Report
The May 1 national response date for college acceptances has passed, but students who aren't enrolled in school for the fall semester still have hope. More than 270 U.S. colleges and universities are still accepting applications for the fall, according to the National Association for College Admission Counseling's annual College Openings Update. The list, released Tuesday, shows which of the organization's member institutions still have space for freshmen and transfers. Students can also see if a school has financial aid or housing available.

Over the past couple of decades, researchers have uncovered all sorts of ways in which certain types of students experience college differently. Racial and ethnic minority, international, LGBTQ, first-generation, lower SES, and even politically conservative students encounter marginalizing experiences that can undercut the quality of their education. Interestingly, researchers examining systemic differences in the ways that students experience college have spent most of their energy parsing differences between students' demographic traits.

This webinar is intended to help audience members better understand how social media can be used as a tool to understand and improve adolescent and young adult mental health.
