That was up from 18 percent last year and puts online ahead of broadcast for the second year in a row. In addition, 75 percent of respondents said they had included social networks in their marketing strategy, up dramatically from 51 percent in 2009. More

Since antiquity, the brilliance of diamonds has made them the most coveted of stones. The hardness of diamonds has also made them sought-after for more mundane applications, such as polishing, cutting and drilling. But diamonds have a very different, high-tech future in store that goes far beyond their historical role as beautiful adornments or handy tools. More

Seeing red: Red diamonds are perhaps the most elusive of all colored diamonds
Rapaport    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Is a red diamond red when it comes out of the ground? Is it red when it comes off the polishing wheel? Or is it red when it's seen under a particular light source? The answer is: yes, yes and yes. But in the current marketplace, where Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certification is the "must-have" document, a diamond is officially red only when it is certified by the GIA to be "fancy red." Up, up, and away: Prices for colored diamonds skyrocket as supply dwindles
Rapaport    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail
Like an escalator that only knows how to go up, the market for colored diamonds has been rising rapidly. But instead of a smooth, steady ascent, colored diamonds have leapt upward in huge increments. With more people becoming aware of the beauty and rarity of color diamonds, it's not surprising that prices are increasing faster than any miner can find a new source and sink a shaft. More
